I am not very technical nor am I mechanical, so I need to purchase electronic items (including those for the kitchen) that are easy to use. When I see the word "programmable" I always worry a little bit.I really needed a new crock pot and I like the look of this one, so I decided to purchase it.The first thing I do, when I get a new item is to read the manual. I was happy to see that this manual was relatively short yet, helpful.This slow cooker is VERY easy to use. The programmable aspect is basically press on a few buttons, depending on what you are cooking and let it do its work - nothing complicated at all.As mentioned, the look of this crock pot is great and while the weight of it is somewhat light (easy to carry from counter to table) it feels and is sturdy to use. The "interior" portion of the crock pot is nice and roomy and while this is a 4 quart machine, it let's me make enough food comfortably for 4 people.I have already made a chili, two chicken recipes and oatmeal and all of these dishes were perfectly and evenly cooked and came out tasting delicious. Once you program your crock pot to fit the recipe, this machine will automatically set to "warm" once the initial cooking of the ingredients is complete, a feature that I am discovery I thoroughly enjoy, especially if I am out when the original cook time ends and I am not able to immediately serve the meal.
